Job summary

Upperline Health is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to embed with partner organizations, translating field needs into working software and data connectivity. You will build data feeds, EMR integrations, and patient-facing interfaces, collaborating across engineering, product, and customer delivery teams.

You will travel to partner sites, work in ambiguous environments, and defend architectural decisions while delivering value quickly in a high-growth healthcare technology environment.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of software engineering and customer-facing delivery experience.
• Ability to build and ship end-to-end solutions independently.
• Experience integrating with vendor APIs and legacy interfaces.
• Fluency with SQL and a modern data stack.
• Strong communication with clinical, operational, and executive audiences.

Responsibilities

• Establish data relationships with partners and manage data interfaces (HL7v2, FHIR, CCDA).
• Extend and customize Upperline applications to fit partner workflows and build new interfaces.
• Travel to partner locations to gather requirements and support rollouts (25–40%).
• Define playbooks and configurable capabilities for faster future deployments.
• Communicate progress and outcomes clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
