Job summary

Rochester General Hospital is seeking an EHR Application Analyst to support the development, implementation, and ongoing functionality of our EHR systems. You will configure workflows, assist end-users, and help optimize clinical and operational processes.

This role requires strong problem-solving, collaboration with clinicians and IT teams, and participation in testing, training, and go-live activities. Epic certifications are required within six months of hire, and remote work from the Riedman

Qualifications

• Excellent analytical, organization, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and within teams.
• Working knowledge of healthcare workflows, terminology, and business process.
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365 or equivalent productivity tools.
• Associate or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, healthcare or related field.
• 1 year of applicable IT or relevant healthcare experience.
• Epic certifications required within six months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day technical support to end-users, troubleshoot issues, and resolve system errors to ensure uninterrupted use of the EHR system.
• Log, track, and manage support requests in the service management system, ensuring timely documentation and resolution.
• Recognize when issues require escalation and engage appropriate resources in a timely manner.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as software updates, patches, and upgrades, to ensure the stability and security of the EHR system.
• Participate in on-call rotations to provide after-hours support coverage for critical system issues.
• Participate in testing and validation activities for system changes, enhancements, and upgrades, following established change management processes to ensure new features and configurations meet functional requirements without introducing unintended disruptions.
• Participate as a team member on EHR implementation projects, system upgrades, and other initiatives, completing assigned tasks on time and communicating status to project leads.
• Assist with the development and delivery of end-user training materials and sessions.
• Support go-live activations and provide at-the-elbow assistance to staff during system transitions.
• Engage with EHR vendor support to stay current on system capabilities and resolve issues efficiently.
