Tailscale is hiring a Software Engineer to join a fully remote, globally distributed engineering team. You will design and build networking features, contribute to the open-source dataplane, and help scale our Funnel and DERP relay infrastructure for high availability and performance.

Qualifications

Proven track record in networking software design, development and troubleshooting.
Experience with Go programming language is highly desired.
Familiarity with distributed systems, SRE/DevOps practices and global-scale services.
Strong written and verbal communication and the ability to work asynchronously.

Responsibilities

Design, build, document networking features and the open-source client-code network dataplane.
Improve Funnel and DERP relay infrastructures and related network protocols.
Troubleshoot escalated network issues across diverse environments.
Maintain live services with observability, incident management, and support escalations.
Evaluate performance, reliability and scaling of networking resources.
