Job summary

Tailscale in the United States is seeking a Principal Product Manager to lead the dataplane platform spanning WireGuard, DERP, Subnet routers, and app connectors. You will own vision, roadmap, and performance commitments across networking, cloud, and enterprise deployments.

This role reports to the VP Product and collaborates with GTM and engineering to deliver reliable, scalable connectivity for millions of devices while shaping open source and commercial strategy.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of product management owning networking or infra products at scale.
• Deep fluency in routing, NAT traversal, and overlay networking.
• Proven ability to define performance commitments and customer-facing SLOs.

Responsibilities

• Set the vision and roadmap for the dataplane, including WireGuard behavior, DERP expansion, and client-side networking.
• Define performance and reliability as customer-facing product requirements.
• Own end-to-end connectivity strategy including regional expansion and capacity planning.
• Drive the roadmap for operational primitives and production tooling.
• Own the application-layer connectivity surface and operator control surfaces.
• Collaborate with GTM, CS, Solutions Engineering on production traffic commitments.
