Job summary

Tenet Healthcare is seeking a Physician Services Coder II - ED Remote to code physician charges by assigning ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS codes and modifiers from medical records. The role requires resolving pre-bill edits and coding denials while maintaining productivity and a 95.5% accuracy rate in audits.

The candidate should have 3–5 years of coding experience, CPC/CCS-P or equivalent certification, and strong knowledge of coding rules, documentation and third-party payor guidelines.

Qualifications

• Vocational or technical education beyond high school.
• Minimum of 3-5 years coding experience.
• CPC or CCS-P or equivalent certification for multi-specialty E/M coding.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and coding rules/regulations.
• Ability to examine documents for accuracy and completeness.
• Team communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Assign ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS and modifiers codes from documentation.
• Review and resolve pre-bill edits and coding denials.
• Meet or exceed productivity and accuracy benchmarks (95.5%).
• Present coding issues to team or clients; deliver information clearly.
• Follow applicable coding rules (CCI, LCD, NCD) and client guidelines.

Education

Vocational or technical education beyond high school

Minimum of 3-5 years coding experience

Working knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and coding rules

Ability to communicate clearly and work as a team
