Job summary

DaMar Staffing seeks a Remote ED/Ancillary Coder to accurately code Emergency Department and Ancillary services from medical records. The role requires ICD-10-CM, CPT coding principles, and CMS/official guidelines familiarity.

The candidate must have at least 3 years of medical coding experience, a current coding credential (AHIMA or AAPC), and a strong documentation and compliance mindset. Remote work setup and standard equipment are expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Requires one of the following coding credentials: AHIMA (CCS, CCS-P, or RHIT); AAPC (CPC, COC, CPC-H)
• Must be proficient with Facilities Coding Standards.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in medical coding.
• Working knowledge of ICD-10-CM.

Responsibilities

• Maintains knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT coding principles and coding guidelines.
• Attains proper documentation when not documented and communicates with facility.
• Ensures 95% overall accuracy rate and maintains productivity standards.
• Works the review queue daily and communicates necessary corrections to the facility.
• Codes or pending every chart placed in their queue.
• Keeps current professional credentials.
