Job summary

GeBBS Healthcare Solutions is seeking a remote AHIMA or AAPC-credentialed ED facility medical coding specialist for part-time work (20 hours) with at least 3 years of experience in Emergency Department coding.

You will code ED encounters per ICD-10-CM with UHDDS and CPT-4 guidelines, using 3M Encoder and EPIC EMR. The role requires Pacific time availability (6a–6:30p) Mon–Fri and a temporary assignment through mid-September.

Qualifications

AHIMA RHIT, RHIA, CCS credentials required. AAPC may be considered.
Minimum of 3 years recent Facility Emergency Department coding experience.
Principals of ICD-10 outpatient coding.
Maintains accuracy of diagnosis code assignment per client and GeBBS policies.
Maintains productivity levels per client and GeBBS policies.
Working hours will be between 6a-6:30p Pacific time Mon-Fri only (40 total hours).
This is a part time temp position until around mid September.

Responsibilities

Code all ED encounters per ICD-10-CM, UHDDS, and CPT-4 per client specs (no injections/infusions).
Stay current on GeBBS and client coding policies and procedures.
Clarify unclear information with supervisor or data quality specialist.
Work with 3M Encoder and EPIC EMR system.
Maintain production minimum of 12 CPH.
Communicate regulatory changes to coding supervisor.
