Job summary

Great American Insurance Group, a leader in cyber risk, seeks an Underwriting Territory Manager for the East Coast to drive growth and lead an underwriting team remotely with significant travel.

You will apply deep cyber underwriting expertise, broker relationships, and strategic leadership to expand presence and profitability within the cyber portfolio while collaborating across underwriting, claims, and risk management teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in insurance, risk management, finance or related field.
• 5+ years of cyber underwriting experience preferred; P&C experience considered.
• 2-4+ years of leadership experience coaching and managing underwriting teams.
• Strong underwriting expertise with complex cyber risks and larger accounts.
• Established broker relationships and market development experience.

Responsibilities

• Drive profitable new business production and territory expansion across the East Coast region.
• Lead, coach, and develop an underwriting team while maintaining accountability and high performance.
• Underwrite complex Cyber Risk accounts and provide guidance on challenging submissions.
• Execute underwriting strategies supporting growth, portfolio diversification, and market expansion.
• Build and maintain relationships with retail and wholesale brokers to secure opportunities.
• Strengthen distribution partnerships and drive production results.
• Monitor portfolio performance including rate adequacy and loss trends; propose actions.
• Ensure consistent underwriting guidelines, pricing discipline, and regulatory compliance.
• Analyze market conditions to inform territory strategy and business planning.
• Represent division at industry events, broker meetings, and client engagements.
