Job summary

CVS Health Corporation in the United States seeks an experienced EAP Clinical Counselor to provide 24/7 mental health support via video, phone or chat, in a nationwide program. The role is fully remote in the USA and requires a master’s in behavioral health and an active licensed clinical credential.

The position emphasizes crisis intervention skills, call-center collaboration, and confidential documentation while delivering timely, high-quality care to members across diverse populations.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of crisis intervention experience.
• Valid unrestricted independent behavioral health clinical license to practice per state regulations in the state they reside in/ one or more or equivalent is required: LPC, LMFT, LCSW, LMHC, LCMHC, LICSW, LISW, Clinical Psychologist.
• 24x7x365 call center coverage needed, holiday coverage is expected.
• Experience in facilitating patient/client positive behavior change.
• Experience in handling mental health, psychiatric care, family situations and relationship concerns preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide telephone-based assessment, triage, consultation, counseling and informational services, delivered in a call center environment using a variety of advanced clinical assessments, motivational Interviewing and solution focused/short-term problem resolution.
• Provide risk, substance abuse and mental health assessments to develop immediate action/safety plans based on level of urgency.
• Understand various levels of care (mental health and substance use) to aid in appropriate recommendation of care based on the assessment of need.
• Join with and collaborate with a member to understand their needs and be in alignment with the member's theory of change; provide information to members regarding mental health, substance abuse and related resources.
• Collaborate with a team of professionals to support positive clinical outcomes and continuity of care for all members.
• Require multitasking to type/document while using other tools to assist with call handling and protect confidentiality.
• Maintain accurate documentation meeting risk management and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain current independent behavioral health license in good standing in the state where they reside.
