Job summary

UnitedHealth Group seeks an Evaluation & Management Medical Coder to provide coding and auditing services to providers across the U.S. The role includes outreach to provider offices, documentation guidance, and auditing of outpatient claims.

Training is provided virtually from home, with full-time hours 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM CST and occasional overtime. Qualifications include a high school diploma, AHIMA/AAPC credentials, and 2+ years in E&M coding, telephony, and EMR systems, plus strong

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Professional coder certification from AHIMA or AAPC required and renewed annually.
• Medical coding or auditing experience within the past year.
• 2+ years of E&M medical coding experience.
• 2+ years of interacting with physicians or provider staff.
• 2+ years of high-volume telephonic experience.
• 2+ years of experience with EMR systems.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Ability to work 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM CST with occasional overtime.

Responsibilities

• Educate providers by phone and email on coding guidelines and documentation.
• Audit outpatient claims to verify codes, modifiers, and place of service.
• Provide written feedback per industry standards.
