Job summary

Fidus Systems, a global high-tech design firm, seeks a DSP Designer to develop and deliver complex signal processing algorithms from concept to hardware bring-up. You will work with customers and internal FPGA/hardware teams across domains such as communications, radar, automotive, medical devices, and semiconductors, translating DSP ideas into feasible architectures while documenting results.

Qualifications

• BS/MS/PhD in Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, or related field.
• Strong background in signals and systems (Fourier, transform, sampling theory).
• Experience with estimation/detection or adaptive filtering techniques.
• Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink and Python for algorithm design.
• Experience translating DSP concepts to FPGA/HDL implementations.
• Excellent communication and ability to explain trade-offs to non-DSP stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Develop and simulate DSP algorithms in MATLAB/Simulink and/or Python from concept through fixed-point validation.
• Perform quantization/bit-width analysis for HDL implementation.
• Collaborate with FPGA/HDL and hardware teams to translate algorithms into feasible architectures.
• Support HDL verification with golden-model test vectors and co-simulation.
• Document design decisions and validation results for clients and internal reference.
