Job summary

Fidus Systems in the United States is seeking a DSP Designer to develop and deliver complex signal processing algorithms from concept to hardware bring-up. You will collaborate with FPGA/hardware teams and customers to translate DSP concepts into feasible architectures and fixed-point implementations.

The role covers MATLAB/Simulink and Python development, quantization analysis, and test-vector generation for HDL verification.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in signals and systems including Fourier/Z-transform and digital filter design.
• Experience with fixed-point conversion and quantization trade-offs.
• Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink and/or Python for algorithm design and simulation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and simulate DSP algorithms (equalization, filtering, estimation, detection) in MATLAB/Simulink and/or Python from concept through fixed-point validation.
• Perform quantization/bit-width analysis and produce bit-true fixed-point models for HDL implementation.
• Collaborate with FPGA/HDL and hardware teams to translate algorithms into feasible hardware architectures.
• Support HDL verification through golden-model test vectors and co-simulation.
• Support lab bring-up and tuning of DSP-based hardware against real-world channel behavior.
• Document design decisions, trade-offs, and validation results for clients and internal references.
