Job summary

ICF, a global advisory and technology services firm, seeks a Distribution Planning Engineer for Puerto Rico (Remote). You will interface with engineers to build computer-based models and perform power system studies for distribution and industrial systems, including load flows, short circuits, and DER impacts.

The ideal candidate holds a BS in Electrical Engineering and 2+ years in distribution planning, with experience in CYME, Synergi, ETAP, and similar tools.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering from an ABET certified college or University.
• 2+ year of experience in distribution planning, operations, and electrical engineering system studies.
• 3. Experience using power flow analysis software such as CYME, Synergi, Windmil, ETAP, or other equivalent software packages.

Responsibilities

• Participate in both internal and external client meetings.
• System modeling, such as steady-state load flows (CYME, Synergi, Windmil, ETAP, SKM etc.).
• System reliability and resiliency planning studies
• Distribution system circuit analysis for loading, voltage, reactive power, contingency, coordination, and reliability
• New load and generation interconnection studies
• Recommends solutions and best practices for standard and non-standard situations
• Perform detailed engineering analyses following standard methodology, criteria, and principles
• Actively seek out and encourage identification of new technologies and work practices to reduce operational costs and/or assist in the reduction of potential safety hazards
