Job summary

ICF is seeking an experienced Substation Physical Engineer to lead the design and execution of high-voltage substation projects from a home office in Puerto Rico. The ideal candidate will drive quality, meet deadlines, and mentor junior staff while coordinating with disciplines to ensure deliverables meet IEEE, NESC, and NEC standards.

This role offers a clear path to Supervising Engineer with growing responsibilities in project oversight and client engagement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (focus in power systems preferred).
• 8+ years of experience in substation physical design for electric utilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the design and preparation of substation physical design drawings including: One Line and Three Line diagrams; Station General Arrangements & Sections; Electrical Details; Grounding Plan & Details; Conduit Plan & Details; Control Cubicle Layout, Sections, Cable Tray, Lighting, and Grounding; Low-Voltage AC Panels; Grounding Plan & Details; Lightning Protection; Illumination Plan & Details.
