Job summary

Actalent is seeking an Electrical Engineer to design and review overhead and underground distribution lines from 4 kV to 69 kV. You will develop URD, re-conductoring, and asset replacement projects, and coordinate with small design teams to prepare budgets and scoping documents.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering (Master's counts towards experience) and 2+ years in utility design, with proficiency in CAD/GIS tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Master's Degree will count towards years of experience.
• Technical training or certifications related to utility design, GIS, CAD, or electric utility infrastructure.
• 2 years of utility, telecom, joint use, or make-ready design experience.

Responsibilities

• Design and review overhead and underground distribution lines from 4 kV to 69 kV.
• Develop overhead, URD, re-conductoring, asset replacement projects and underground work packages.
• Design complex distribution projects in urban and rural environments per client specs.
• Coordinate small design teams to develop budgets, scoping documents, and deliverables.
• Provide engineering assistance during construction and attend meetings as needed.
• Identify and initiate corrective action when objectives aren’t met.
• Interpret codes, develop construction standards, and promote engineering professionalism.
• Develop and implement plans with goals, scheduling, resources, and information.
