Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking an experienced engineer to lead project teams in distribution design for 4 kV through 38 kV facilities. The role includes preparing construction sketches, reviewing work packages, and supporting field activities as needed.

Ideal candidates bring 6+ years in electric utility distribution, strong communication, and the ability to guide complex overhead and underground projects. Collaboration with clients and internal teams is a key part of the job.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in a design-related field or a 4-year non-engineering degree.
• 6+ years of experience in electric utility distribution or related review experience.
• Knowledgeable in distribution design methods and their applications.
• Familiar with design codes and standards (NESC, NEC, ANSI, IEEE, GIS/GWD).
• Experience with complex overhead and underground distribution projects (120/208V through 38 kV).
• Knowledgeable in AutoCAD, ArcGIS, PoleForeman and related distribution software.
• Strong communication skills and ability to lead a project team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare/Review construction sketches and work packages for distribution facilities (4 KV through 38 KV).
• Perform field work when necessary and support project scoping.
• Support maintenance and recapitalization of distribution components.
• Plan system modifications and oversee complex tasks.
• Provide construction support and client communication as needed.
