Qualifications

• 2+ years of relevant experience in distribution engineering/design.
• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Industrial preferred (or equivalent experience).
• Experience executing distribution projects from kickoff through design and customer interaction.
• Experience with utility reliability projects.
• Proficiency with the NESC is desired.
• Valid U.S. drivers license and ability to travel.
• Willingness to perform field and office work and attend customer-site visits as needed.

Responsibilities

• Independently develop design and construction work packages for electrical overhead and underground distribution systems for Leidos electric utility customers.
• Review client-provided information and assess scope requirements.
• Perform engineering calculations (pole loading, guying, conductors, voltage drop, flicker).
• Provide engineering support during construction and post-construction reviews.
• Conduct root cause analysis of outages and mitigation using engineering principles.
• Coordinate with utilities and organize large design packages for complex cable/conduit projects in urban environments; obtain work permits and easements.
