Job summary

Manulife/John Hancock is seeking a Disability Case Analyst/Case Manager to support Canada-wide plan members remotely. You will review medical, functional and vocational factors, design return-to-work strategies and partner with sponsors, members and providers to achieve sustainable outcomes.

The role emphasizes empathy, analytical thinking and sound decision making across Absence Management Consultative Services, Short-Term Disability or Long-Term Disability claims.

Qualifications

• College or university degree in a healthcare program or equivalent work experience is considered an asset.
• Bilingual English and French is an asset (Québec support).
• Ability to make meaningful decisions efficiently and under tight deadlines.
• Knowledge of disability management and/or group benefits is an asset.
• Background in a health-related field is advantageous.
• Comfortable and skilled in handling both incoming and outgoing calls.

Responsibilities

• Proactively handle a dedicated caseload within SLAs and turnaround times.
• Answer emails and phone calls promptly as part of daily tasks.
• Assess claims based on contractual, medical and vocational factors.
• Collaborate with plan sponsors, plan members, providers and internal partners to drive cases to return-to-work or resolution.
• Write letters communicating benefit-related information based on analytical reasoning.
• Demonstrate resiliency, emotional intelligence and compassionate communication with plan members.
