Job summary

TELUS Health is seeking a Concurrent Disability Case Manager to oversee, process, and adjudicate Short-Term Disability (STD) claims and leaves (FMLA, State, and company-specific). You will evaluate eligibility based on federal, state, and plan-specific regulations, communicating with clients and claimants throughout the claims lifecycle to ensure compliant case management.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of direct experience managing Leaves and STD disability case management.
• Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess and negotiate.
• Deep understanding of FMLA and state leave laws.
• Experience managing self-insured STD plans and paid/unpaid leave policies.
• Ability to review medical documentation and translate restrictions into workplace accommodations.
• Excellent conflict resolution and ability to handle confidential medical information.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and adjudicate STD and leave cases (FMLA, State, and company-specific).
• Conduct case assessments via phone, email or meetings and gather information.
• Determine eligibility and communicate decisions clearly to all parties.
• Analyze medical certifications and ensure regulatory compliance timeframes.
• Develop RTW goals and assist in coordinating return-to-work plans.
• Serve as primary case contact with employer representatives and escalate as needed.
