Job summary

Manulife is seeking a Disability Case Analyst/Case Manager to support plan members across Canada, guiding them through illness, injury, and recovery while helping them reclaim independence and a path back to work. This role blends clinical insight, analytical thinking, and compassionate communication.

You will assess medical, functional, vocational, and psychosocial factors; develop recovery and return‑to‑work strategies; collaborate with sponsors, plan members, providers, and internal partners

Qualifications

• Degree in a healthcare program or equivalent work experience is an asset.
• Ability to make meaningful decisions efficiently under tight deadlines.
• Knowledge of disability management or group benefits is an asset.
• Background in a health-related field is advantageous.
• Comfortable handling both incoming and outgoing calls.

Responsibilities

• Proactively handle a dedicated caseload in compliance with service levels and turnaround times.
• Respond to emails and phone calls in a timely manner as part of daily administrative tasks.
• Assess claims based on contractual, medical, and vocational factors.
• Collaborate with plan sponsors, plan members, providers and internal partners to drive cases to return‑to‑work or job resolution.
• Write letters communicating benefit related information based on analytical reasoning.
• Demonstrate resiliency and empathy when communicating with plan members and delivering difficult decisions.
