Job summary

Vesper Energy is seeking a Director of Transmission and Interconnection to own transmission analysis and execution for its solar and storage portfolio. You will lead a team of interconnection professionals and external consultants, partnering with Development, Engineering, Commercial, Finance and Legal to support viability and financing.

You will shape interconnection queue strategy, manage study phases and cost/risk, and deliver portfolio reporting for senior leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical or power systems engineering or related field.
• 10+ years in transmission planning, interconnection, or power system studies.
• 5+ years in people leadership with coaching and performance feedback.
• 5+ years in a Director-level role focusing on tools, processes, and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Development, Engineering, and Commercial to deliver outcomes and integrate interconnection leadership.
• Lead interconnection and transmission strategy with queue approach and study priorities.
• Structure the interconnection team with clear ownership for SME roles.
• Coach team members to own projects and maintain process documentation.
• Drive interconnection applications, study processes, and issue resolution with utilities and ISOs.
• Manage interconnection cost and schedule risk and escalate constraints with options.
• Develop portfolio level interconnection reporting for leadership review cadence.
• Oversee consultants and vendors with scopes, QA, budgets, and timelines.
• Implement scalable tools and automated tracking to improve speed and quality.
