Job summary

WorldWide Mission Critical seeks a Director, Transmission Electrical Engineering to act as the senior technical authority on electric transmission systems supporting hyperscale data center campuses across the United States. You will lead planning studies, substation design reviews, and construction-phase oversight with the Power Interconnection team to ensure compliant, on-schedule delivery.

The role requires 8+ years in transmission engineering and a deep knowledge of NERC/IEEE standards.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in electric transmission engineering across utility, transmission owner, or EPC contexts.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• Deep knowledge of transmission planning studies and substation design fundamentals.
• Experience with utility interconnection processes and queue/system impact studies.

Responsibilities

• Serve as WMCC's senior technical authority on electric transmission engineering (load flow, short circuit, stability).
• Review and validate interconnection/impact/facility studies.
• Oversee substation design packages for compliance with standards and criteria.
• Provide construction-phase technical oversight for transmission lines and substations.
• Translate utility requirements into actionable engineering scope with development teams.
• Assess risk and schedule impact of constraints for stakeholders.
• Maintain knowledge of regional planning criteria (PJM, MISO, ERCOT, WECC).
• Represent WMCC in technical sessions with utility and planning counterparts.
