Job summary

Skydio is seeking an experienced Senior Manager, Solutions Engineering for SLED Majors West. This remote role leads a multi-site, citywide deployment portfolio with travel ~30%.

You will guide a technical team, drive client-focused demos and proofs of concept, and coordinate with Sales, Engineering, and Product to ensure successful deployments of public safety sUAS programs across East majors and West initiatives.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant technical experience in a customer-facing role (solutions engineering, field engineering, or applications engineering).
• 1+ years leading a technical team, formally or as a technical lead with hiring/mentorship responsibility.
• Strong understanding of drone technology, Public Safety sUAS operations, and regulatory compliance.
• Working knowledge of Public Safety technologies, including CAD, VMS, and related software platforms, and the ability to lead integration discussions.
• Track record of hiring, onboarding, and developing technical people while retaining them.
• Comfort operating inside a Sales organization, owning a quota, deal strategy, and deciding when to commit technical resources.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Solutions Engineering team across the Majors West segment, hiring, coaching, and retaining talent.
• Drive technical wins with demos, trial plans, site assessments, and customer-facing documentation.
• Own the Majors West problem set, including site assessments, proofs of concept, and integration guidance for CAD/VMS/airspace strategies.
• Represent the customer inside Skydio by turning field observations into prioritized, defensible requirements and reusable assets.
