Job summary

Townsquare Media is seeking a Director of SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting to own external reporting and the technical accounting function. This remote role collaborates with internal teams and reports to the accounting leadership.

The position requires 8+ years in accounting (SEC reporting preferred) with a CPA. You’ll drive GAAP knowledge, XBRL tagging, and SOX processes while coordinating with IR, Legal, and Audit Committees.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including public accounting and SEC reporting experience or equivalent.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; active CPA license required.
• Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC rules (Regulation S-X and S-K).
• Experience supervising and developing staff; month-end close experience strongly preferred.
• Strong written communication skills; ability to present to senior management and the Audit Committee.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and own SEC filings, including 10-K, 10-Q and 8-K with related statements and MD&A.
• Coordinate with Investor Relations on earnings releases and non-GAAP reconciliations.
• Lead SOX documentation, controls and audit liaison activities.
• Stay current on SEC/FASB rules and assess impact on reporting.
• Oversee inline XBRL tagging and external reporting processes.
