Job summary

Townsquare Media is seeking a Director of SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting to own external reporting and technical accounting. This high-visibility role partners with Investor Relations, Legal, and Internal Audit to ensure accurate disclosures, compliant filings, and robust controls.

You will oversee XBRL tagging, accounting policy guidance, and the preparation of memos for non-routine transactions while driving process improvements and automation.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including public accounting and SEC reporting
• Active CPA license required
• Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC rules
• Experience supervising and developing staff

Responsibilities

• Prepare and own SEC filings (10-K/10-Q/8-K) and related financial statements
• Coordinate with Investor Relations for earnings releases and non-GAAP reconciliations
• Support proxy statements and Section 16 filings
• Oversee SEC reporting process, SOX narratives and controls
• Own inline XBRL tagging and disclosure checklists
• Lead accounting standards applications (ASC 606, ASC 350, ASC 805, ASC 842, ASC 280)
• Prepare memos on complex transactions and audit committee materials
• Manage equity award records and stock-based compensation
• Drive process improvements and automation of close tasks
• Liaise with external auditors and tax on disclosures
