Job summary

UVA Health seeks a Director of Enterprise Professional Coding to drive strategy and operations for professional coding across a large academic medical center. You will lead coding and education leaders, collaborate with physicians and executive teams, and advance compliance and revenue integrity.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required.
10+ years of coding experience including 5+ years of formal management experience.
Experience in large academic medical center or faculty practice strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

Lead professional coding operations across multiple specialties and academic settings.
Oversee Coding Managers and an Education Manager and their teams.
Partner with physicians and leaders to improve documentation quality and coding accuracy.
Drive KPIs: coding accuracy, productivity, denial reduction, charge lag, revenue cycle performance.
Oversee compliance programs, coding audits, and education initiatives.
