Job summary

New Energy Nexus is seeking a Director of Development Strategy & Operations to lead its global fundraising engine. Reporting to the CEO, you will translate field learnings into a prioritized fundraising strategy and ensure the team is coordinated, resourced, and focused on high-value opportunities.

The role emphasizes strategy, leadership, and fundraising operations rather than donor-facing relationship management.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience across nonprofit fundraising/development, development strategy and/or development operations.
• Strong track record leading complex philanthropic proposals across programmes, geographies or internal stakeholders.
• Demonstrated experience turning frontline input into strategy and prioritization.
• Demonstrated people-management experience, including coaching and performance management.
• Experience operating in global or matrix organisations with cross-country coordination.
• Comfortable using CRM and pipeline data to support fundraising decisions, forecasting and reporting.
• Familiarity with the climate, clean energy, or entrepreneurship support landscape is a strong plus.
• Experience conducting dedicated funder-market or landscape research is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Develop a living, prioritized development strategy based on proposals and funder signals.
• Coordinate pipeline and fundraising activities across programs, chapters, and geographies.
• Lead and develop the global platform-level development team.
• Produce regular dashboards and reporting on pipeline health and funder trends.
• Create a central library of fundraising collateral and templates.
• Draft and maintain core funder decks aligned with branding and messaging.
• Provide tools and support to country leads and fundraisers.
• Ensure CRM usage and standardized reporting across the organization.
