PowerLines seeks a Director of Development to build and lead a major donor fundraising program from the ground up. Remote role based in the United States, travel up to 30%.

The successful candidate will design fundraising strategy, manage a donor pipeline, oversee proposals and stewardship, and partner with the Founder and Executive Director to scale philanthropic support toward multi‑million dollar goals.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of fundraising experience with success securing six- and seven-figure gifts.
• Experience with family foundations, family offices, DAFs, and HNW donors.
• Ability to build scalable development programs and partnerships with leadership.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; strong storytelling for impact.
• Ability to thrive in an early-stage nonprofit environment with tight timelines.
• Strategic thinker with habit of connecting program goals to donor interests.

Responsabilités

• Design and lead a comprehensive fundraising strategy focused on major donors and foundations.
• Identify and cultivate new donors; build and maintain a robust pipeline.
• Oversee donor stewardship, renewals, and relationship management.
• Lead drafting of grant proposals; manage lifecycle, reporting, and renewals.
• Build scalable development infrastructure and CRM processes.
• Mentor and onboard fundraising staff as the team grows.
• Coordinate events and briefings to convert policy wins into fundraising opportunities.
