Job summary

Boulevard is seeking a Director of Engineering, Data to build and lead the data infrastructure, governance, and ML capabilities that power our client experience platform. You will manage a high-impact data engineering team and partner across Product, Data Insights, and Engineering to deliver scalable data products for customers and internal use.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in data platform engineering, distributed systems, or infrastructure engineering.
• 5+ years of people management, including senior engineers/tech leads.
• Proven track record building data platforms and ML systems for internal analytics and customer-facing products.
• Experience delivering customer-facing reporting, dashboards, and analytics with Product teams.
• Strong experience with modern data stack technologies (dbt, Airflow, Snowflake, Kafka).
• Deep understanding of data governance, quality frameworks, and security best practices.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the long-term technical strategy for the data platform to stay scalable and reliable as we grow.
• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of data platform engineers, setting best practices and a culture of excellence.
• Partner with Product Management, Product Engineering, and Data Insights to deliver platform capabilities powering data products and insights.
• Drive architectural decisions for data systems balancing current needs with future flexibility and scale.
• Set up monitoring, alerting, and operational practices for high availability and performance.
• Define data governance policies, security standards, and data quality frameworks across the company.
• Align the data platform roadmap with business objectives and technical strategy.
