Job summary

Boulevard Labs, Inc. is seeking a Director of Engineering - Data to construct and lead Boulevard's data platform and governance framework.

You will shape data collection, processing, and accessible systems to support data-driven products and insights across the company. Reporting to the SVP of Engineering, you will lead a high-impact team of data engineers, drive architecture decisions, and ensure security, reliability, and scalability as Boulevard grows.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in data platform engineering, distributed systems, or infrastructure engineering.
• 5+ years of people management experience, including leading senior engineers/technical leads.
• Proven track record building data platforms and ML systems for internal analytics and customer-facing data products.
• Experience delivering customer-facing reporting, dashboards, and analytics features with product teams.
• Deep familiarity with modern data stack technologies (dbt, Airflow, Snowflake, Kafka).
• Strong governance, quality frameworks, and security best practices.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the long-term technical strategy for Boulevard's data platform.
• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of data engineers and establish best practices.
• Collaborate with Product Management, Product Engineering, and Data Insights to deliver platform capabilities for customer-facing data products and internal insights.
• Drive architectural decisions balancing current needs with future flexibility.
• Establish monitoring, alerting, and operational practices for high availability and performance.
• Define data governance policies, security standards, and quality frameworks.
