Job summary

Essex Management, operating as Essex, an Emmes Company, seeks a Director of Capture Strategy & Growth to lead end-to-end capture across federal and commercial health markets. You will architect win strategies, shape proposals, and govern a healthy pipeline with executive leadership oversight.

The role requires 8+ years in federal capture/BD, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to translate capabilities into differentiated, evidence-backed bids.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
• Progressive federal capture, BD, or growth experience with ownership of multi-million-dollar pursuits (8+ years).
• Demonstrated wins in federal health markets (NIH, FDA, HHS) including IDIQ/BPA/task orders.
• Experience building and governing pipelines, capture gates, and executive support.
• Experience negotiating teaming agreements and strategic partnerships.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute capture and growth strategies aligned with Essex objectives.
• Identify, qualify, and pursue opportunities in federal health agencies and commercial sectors.
• Build and maintain a qualified pipeline; track coverage, Pwin, and conversions.
• Oversee competitive positioning and go-to-market for data management and AI health solutions.
• Advise the VP of BD and leadership on pursuit priorities and market direction.
• Lead capture activities, mentor capture managers, and supervise proposal handoffs.
• Drive win strategies, pricing, and proposal execution with Proposals, Finance, and Contracts.
• Negotiate and manage strategic teaming agreements and partnerships.
