Job summary

Summit Therapeutics is seeking a Director, Market Access Payer Accounts for the Northeast. This remote-field role focuses on leadership of national and sub-national payers to ensure broad access, reimbursement, and affordability for our oncology programs.

You will build relationships with insurers, PBMs, and Medicaid programs, shaping access strategies and pricing collaborations. The role requires 10+ years in biotech/pharma, 5+ years in oncology payer management, and deep knowledge of the US

Qualifications

• 10+ years biotech/pharmaceutical experience
• 5+ years focused account management experience in oncology access
• Proven success engaging US payers, MACs, PBMs, and IDNs
• Strong understanding of the US healthcare payer/access landscape and regulatory environment
• Excellent strategic thinking, leadership, negotiation, and relationship management skills
• Travel: ability to travel to support business priorities as needed

Responsibilities

• Establish, broaden, and deepen relationships with target entities and key decision makers.
• Accounts covered will include: Evernorth/Cigna, Highmark, UPMC, Horizon, CareFirst, BCBS MA/MI.
• Influence policies and contracts to facilitate coverage and reimbursement for products.
• Implement access strategies and develop account-specific plans.
• Collaborate with Medical Affairs and Patient Services to support payer communications and patient access.
• Assist regional sales with payer-based pull or sell-through strategies.
• Co-create account-level strategies, pricing, HEOR plans, and payer marketing initiatives.
• Lead discussions to ensure alignment on access and reimbursement strategies.
