Job summary

Summit Therapeutics Inc. is seeking a Director of Market Access Payer Account in the US to lead national and sub-national payer accounts, ensuring broad access, reimbursement, and patient affordability.

You will establish and maintain relationships with decision makers across health plans, PBMs, and Medicare/Medicaid, guiding strategies and contracts. The role requires deep payer knowledge and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• 10+ years biotech/pharmaceutical experience.
• 5+ years focused account management in oncology payer market.
• Proven success with US payers, MACs, PBMs.
• Strong strategic thinking, leadership and negotiation.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Willingness to travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Establish, broaden, and deepen relationships with target payers and decision makers.
• Influence policies and contracts to secure access and reimbursement.
• Implement brand access strategies and develop account plans.
• Collaborate with Medical Affairs to communicate drug candidates to payers.
• Support patient journey and resolve coverage issues with Patient Services.
• Assist regional teams with payer-based strategies.
• Build relationships with formulary and pathway leaders to secure access.
• Co-create account-level strategies, pricing and HEOR plans.
• Lead cross-functional discussions to align on access strategies.
• Foster a high-performance culture within the field team.
