Job summary

Humana seeks a Director of Public Affairs & Strategy to lead cross-functional work at the intersection of business strategy, healthcare policy, and advocacy. You will frame issues, develop policy positions, and build coordinated strategies that advance enterprise priorities.

The ideal candidate is strategic, structured, and capable of translating complex business and policy issues into clear recommendations and disciplined execution.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree; MBA or other relevant advanced degree preferred.
• 7+ years of experience in management consulting, corporate strategy, healthcare strategy, or related high-performance environments.
• Deep knowledge of the U.S. healthcare industry, including payer and/or provider experience.
• Ability to independently structure ambiguous problems and lead cross-functional work.
• Strong executive communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• Ownership mindset with the ability to drive execution with limited direction.
• High emotional intelligence and the ability to influence senior leaders.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex workstreams end to end with defined scope, milestones, and decisions.
• Advise senior leaders by framing issues, surfacing tradeoffs, and translating into actionable recommendations.
• Develop strategies to advance enterprise priorities, aligning policy developments with business objectives.
• Drive research, data analysis, and scenario planning with clear accountability.
• Create executive-ready deliverables and concise decision materials.
• Lead through influence, manage external partners, and maintain rigor and quality.
