Job summary

Humana is seeking a Director, Public Affairs & Strategy to lead high-priority, cross-functional work at the intersection of business strategy, healthcare policy, and advocacy. This leader will own complex workstreams from framing through execution, partnering with senior leaders to structure issues and build coordinated strategies.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree; MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
• 7+ years of experience in management consulting, corporate strategy, healthcare strategy, enterprise transformation, public affairs strategy, or a similarly rigorous environment.
• Deep knowledge of the U.S. healthcare industry, preferably including payer and/or provider experience.
• Proven ability to independently structure ambiguous problems, lead complex cross-functional work, synthesize findings, and translate insights into actionable recommendations.
• Demonstrated ability to take ownership of complex workstreams and drive execution with limited direction.
• Exceptional project leadership, executive communication, and stakeholder-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex cross-functional workstreams end to end from framing to execution.
• Advise senior leaders by framing issues, surfacing tradeoffs, and translating insights into recommendations.
• Develop strategies to advance enterprise priorities by linking healthcare policy developments to business objectives.
• Drive analysis and scenario planning with clear accountability, timelines, and follow-through.
• Create executive-ready deliverables including presentations, briefs, memos, and decision materials.
• Lead through influence, building trust across functions and managing external partners.
