Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Director of AI Engineering to lead the Generative AI Training platform, overseeing distributed training, reinforcement learning workflows, and GPU scheduling at scale. This role partners with engineers, scientists, and product managers to deliver AI-powered products and scalable infrastructure across Capital One.

Qualifications

Leadership of engineering teams for AI platforms preferred.
Experience building and operating large-scale ML/GPU training infra.
Strong knowledge of AI/ML systems and production-grade deployment.

Responsibilities

Oversee design, development, testing, deployment, and operation of the platform's core systems.
Own GPU capacity planning and cost governance.
Scale AI engineering practices across teams with shared infrastructure.
Translate enterprise AI strategy into portfolio-level execution plans.
Establish enterprise standard for Responsible AI and governance.
