Job summary

Circular Action Alliance is seeking a Director - EPR Compliance to lead regulatory and technical guidance across states for our approved PRO. This remote US role reports to the VP of EPR Regulatory Compliance and focuses on developing policies, producer guidance, and reporting category definitions for covered materials.

You will oversee state reporting categories, support cross-functional teams, conduct regulatory analysis, and contribute to national harmonization initiatives to reduce

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in public policy, sustainability, environmental science, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• 10+ years of regulatory compliance, government relations, policy analysis, or EPR program experience.
• Strong knowledge of packaging regulatory landscape and reporting requirements.
• Experience with regulatory interpretation and cross-state compliance.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain material reporting categories across states and align with the national framework.
• Provide regulatory guidance and interpretive materials for covered materials.
• Lead analyses of exemptions, exclusions, and alternative compliance pathways.
• Develop tools for producer reporting reviews and assess compliance risks.
• Collaborate with internal teams to support reporting, data, and materials management.
• Engage with industry forums to advance sustainable packaging design.
