Job summary

GAF is seeking a Director of EHS Operations to lead world-class safety programs across manufacturing facilities and operations. You will shape strategy, drive behavior-based safety, and oversee EHS initiatives with a cross-functional team, reporting to the VP of Environmental, Health and Safety.

You will mentor EHS professionals, manage governance of standards, and ensure proactive training while maintaining regulatory compliance across sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Safety or Engineering or related field.
• 10 years EHS experience, 5+ years in management.
• Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to change.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute an enterprise EHS strategy across sites.
• Foster a proactive, zero-incident safety culture.
• Lead risk assessment, PS M and industrial hygiene practices.
• Develop and govern EHS management systems and tools.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and audit readiness.
• Oversee incident investigations and corrective actions.
• Mentor EHS professionals and leaders across operations.
• Travel 50% domestically.
