Job summary

EY is seeking a Senior Software Delivery Manager who combines hands-on coding with strategic leadership. You will guide multi-disciplinary teams through design, development, testing, deployment, and production support while keeping close to code decisions.

You will coordinate work across geographies, mentor engineers, and partner with product owners, architects, DevOps, security, and clients to translate business needs into actionable delivery plans. Travel up to 25% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 6+ years of technology software development experience, including responsibility for leading project teams or major delivery workstreams.
• Current hands-on coding experience with Java and Spring Boot, including development of microservices and RESTful APIs.
• Experience with at least one modern UI framework, preferably Angular or React, and the ability to guide full-stack engineering decisions.
• Experience building, reviewing, testing, deploying, and supporting enterprise applications on a major cloud platform.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end delivery of software engineering work across planning, design, development, testing, release, and production support.
• Remain hands-on with coding, code reviews, troubleshooting, technical proof-of-concepts, and resolution of complex engineering issues.
• Guide solution design using Java, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, microservices, Angular or React, relational or NoSQL databases, and cloud-native patterns.
• Plan and manage Agile delivery, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, estimation, daily coordination, demonstrations, retrospectives, release readiness, and dependency management.
• Coordinate work across teams located in different geographic locations and time zones, ensuring clear ownership, timely decisions, and effective handoffs.
• Mentor engineers through technical coaching, design reviews, code-quality feedback, career development conversations, and practical problem-solving support.
• Partner with product owners, architects, quality engineering, DevOps, security, operations, and client stakeholders to translate business requirements into achievable delivery plans.
• Monitor scope, schedule, quality, risks, issues, and delivery metrics; communicate progress and elevate impediments with recommended actions.
• Promote secure development, automated testing, CI/CD, observability, operational readiness, and continuous improvement across the engineering lifecycle.
• Support event-driven and data-processing solutions using Apache Kafka, Hadoop, Apache Spark, Apache Flink, or comparable technologies when required.
