Job summary

Carestream Dental is seeking a Desktop Development Manager to lead the teams behind SoftDent, PracticeWorks, OrthoTrac, WinOMS and more. You will own predictable delivery, code quality, and the health of engineers across the US, UK, FR, and offshore partners.

The role reports to the CTO and collaborates with QA, Product, DevOps and Support. The ideal candidate has 8+ years in software development with 3+ years in leadership, plus experience with Windows desktop tech and SQL Server.

• Lead and grow desktop development teams across time zones.
• Own mature, business-critical codebases with reduced risk.
• Excellent written communication across disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop desktop teams across US, UK, FR, and offshore partners.
• Own predictable delivery across multiple release trains and teams.
• Collaborate with QA, Product, DevOps and Support to ship quality software.
• Deliver compliance and regulatory work to fixed external dates (UK NHS contracts).
• Manage technical debt with a funded paydown plan and risk-based triage.
