Reed Smith in Pittsburgh seeks a Desktop Engineer to develop, manage, and optimize end-user computing across physical and virtual platforms, including imaging, packaging, endpoint configuration, VDI, and print services for firm users.

This role is remote, but candidates must reside within about 1-2 hours of the Pittsburgh office. The ideal candidate has 5+ years in enterprise desktop support, experience with SCCM/Intune/MDM, and strong technical documentation and cross‑team collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT-related discipline or equivalent training/experience.
• 5+ years of experience supporting enterprise desktop and virtual desktop environments.
• Experience with SCCM, Intune, Endpoint Policy Manager, and MDM technologies.
• Experience with print server technologies and cloud-based print solutions.

Responsibilities

• Support desktop imaging and deployment activities using tools like SCCM or similar.
• Support endpoint configuration and mobile device management of firm laptops/desktops using Intune or similar.
• Develop imaging standards for OS deployment, driver integration, and baseline configuration.
• Package applications for deployment across physical and virtual environments.
• Create and maintain virtualized application packages (App‑V, MSIX) to isolate apps from the OS.
• Deploy, upgrade, and manage applications across platforms to ensure consistency.
• Design, deploy, and support print services across on‑prem and cloud environments.
• Lead installation, implementation, and deployment of application systems.
• Provide advanced admin and support for application system platforms including upgrades.
