Job summary

GovCIO is seeking a Deputy Project Manager to support planning, coordination, and execution of VA initiatives, including VistA transition and EHR modernization. The role emphasizes problem-solving, rapid learning, and collaboration in a dynamic federal civilian environment.

Fully remote within the United States, with core business hours and occasional weekend support during deployment events. The ideal candidate brings enterprise Health IT experience and a proven track record of delivering

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems, Business, or a related technical discipline.
• 15+ years of work experience required.
• 10 years of additional relevant experience may substitute for the degree.
• Experience leading dispersed teams in a remote environment.
• Experience working with government stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
• Agile experience is desirable but not required.
• Experience in Enterprise Health IT, VA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support the Project Manager in day-to-day program execution.
• Coordinate activities across SMEs, Data Analysts, Technical Writers, project teams, and stakeholders.
• Translate client requirements into actionable plans and priorities.
• Monitor scope, schedule, risks, dependencies, issues, and resources.
• Identify emerging requirements and develop practical solutions.
• Ensure documentation and leadership communications are up to date.
• Develop executive briefings, status reports, and project plans.
• Facilitate cross-functional reporting and drive action items to closure.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and efficiency.
• Serve as trusted advisor and extension of project leadership.
