GovCIO is seeking a Deputy Project Manager to support the Project Manager in planning, coordinating, and executing complex VA initiatives focused on VistA transition and EHR modernization. Remote within the United States, with core hours 8:00 AM–5:00 PM ET and occasional weekend support during deployments.

The ideal candidate has extensive federal civilian agency experience, especially with VA, and excels at translating strategy into actionable plans while leading geographically dispersed teams

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems, Business, or a related technical field.
• Fifteen (15) or more years of work experience required.
• Ten (10) years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for the required degree.
• Strong written and oral communication, decision-making, and interpersonal skills.

Responsabilités

• Support the Project Manager in managing day-to-day program execution, priorities, deliverables, and stakeholder commitments.
• Coordinate activities across technical SMEs, Data Analysts, Technical Writers, project teams, government stakeholders, and partner organizations.
• Translate client requirements and strategic direction into actionable plans, priorities, and measurable outcomes.
• Monitor scope, schedule, risks, dependencies, issues, and resource requirements across multiple concurrent activities.
• Identify emerging requirements, anticipate challenges, and develop practical solutions before they impact delivery.
• Ensure team activities, accomplishments, risks, and emerging work are accurately tracked, documented, maintained, and communicated to leadership.
• Support development of executive briefings, status reports, presentations, project plans, and other program deliverables.
• Facilitate cross-functional reporting and meetings, drive action items to closure, and maintain accountability for commitments.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, increase efficiency, and apply innovative approaches to program execution.
• Serve as a trusted advisor and extension of project leadership, promoting collaboration, adaptability, and continuous improvement.

Formation

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems, Business, or a related scientific or technical discipline
