GovCIO seeks a Deputy Project Manager to support the Project Manager in coordinating VA initiatives, including VistA transition and EHR modernization. The role emphasizes remote work within the United States, with core hours 8am-5pm ET and occasional weekend support during deployment periods.

Ideal candidates have extensive federal civilian agency experience, strong problem-solving, and the ability to translate strategy into actionable plans.

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Manager in day-to-day program execution, priorities, deliverables, and stakeholder commitments.
• Coordinate activities across SMEs, Data Analysts, Technical Writers, and government stakeholders.
• Translate client requirements into actionable plans, priorities, and measurable outcomes.
• Monitor scope, schedule, risks, dependencies, issues, and resources across multiple activities.
• Identify emerging requirements and develop practical solutions to avoid delivery impact.
• Ensure team activities and risks are tracked, documented, and reported to leadership.
• Support development of executive briefings, status reports, and project plans.
• Facilitate cross-functional reporting, drive action items to closure, and maintain accountability.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, increase efficiency, and apply innovative approaches.
• Serve as trusted advisor, promoting collaboration, adaptability, and continuous improvement.
