Job summary

Optum is seeking an Architect for the MCNA Dental software development team. This remote role leads cross-functional design across portals, EDI, and HL7 APIs, guiding cloud-based, AI-powered solutions to improve performance and reliability.

You will communicate with executives and stakeholders, driving strategy and architectural decisions. Minimum 5+ years in architecture and distributed systems, with leadership experience and a strong background in APIs, cloud platforms, and data integration.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or 4+ years of architectural experience.
5+ years of leadership in an architectural role.
5+ years of designing enterprise-scale distributed systems.
5+ years of software engineering across APIs, web apps, cloud platforms, data integration.
2+ years building AI-powered capabilities, ML pipelines, or automations.
Demonstrated ability to communicate architectural vision to executives.

Responsibilities

Provide architectural leadership for MCNA Dental software development across portals, internal business applications, EDI systems, and HL7 APIs.
Communicate architectural vision, strategies, and trade-offs to executives and stakeholders.
Design, develop, and deploy AI-powered solutions and platform automations.
Improve system performance, reliability, and reusability within constraints.
Evaluate emerging technologies and integration patterns to inform design and innovation.
Collaborate across teams on in-flight initiatives and technical briefings.
Lead with enterprise-approved AI tools to streamline engineering workflows.
