Job summary

SearchApi is seeking an engineering manager to own end-to-end delivery, ensuring projects ship on time with high quality. You will run cadences, surface risks, and escalate when necessary, acting as the first escalation point.

The role emphasizes clear writing and decisive, humane leadership to build a scalable team from a Manager of One to multiple managers. We value practical process improvements, strong technical judgment, and close collaboration with founders.

Qualifications

• Written example of delivery process improvement or incident RCA.
• Experience leading small to medium engineering teams.
• Ability to coordinate incidents and RCA without blame.

Responsibilities

• Run cadences: planning, standups, retros; keep process lean.
• Track active projects, surface risks early, escalate when needed.
• Own delivery metrics: cycle time, latency, reliability.
• Coordinate incident responses and blameless RCAs that drive change.
• Grow the team with coaching, 1:1s, and hiring pipelines.
