Job summary

GDH is seeking a remote Database Administrator to support enterprise Oracle and SQL Server environments. You will ensure performance, availability, security, and reliability while collaborating with development, infrastructure, and operations teams to deliver scalable database solutions.

The role emphasizes hands-on maintenance, tuning, backups, DR/HA implementations, and security controls. Collaboration with remote teams and strong troubleshooting skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years of experience supporting enterprise Oracle, SQL Server environments.
• Proficiency with SQL, PL/SQL, T-SQL and scripting technologies.
• Experience with high availability and disaster recovery technologies such as Oracle Data Guard, Oracle RAC, Always On Availability Groups, or comparable clustering solutions.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate within a remote team.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, administer, and maintain Oracle and SQL Server environments.
• Develop, optimize, and troubleshoot SQL, PL/SQL, T-SQL, and scripting solutions to support performance and efficiency.
• Implement and maintain HA/DR solutions including Oracle Data Guard, RAC, Always On, and clustering technologies.
• Perform backups, restores, upgrades, patches, and migrations.
• Conduct performance tuning, index optimization, capacity planning, and monitoring.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex database issues across production and non-production environments.
• Implement and maintain database security controls including access management and auditing.
• Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and operations teams to design reliable database solutions.
• Develop and maintain documentation for configurations, procedures, recovery processes, and troubleshooting guidelines.
