Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology, Inc. is seeking a Database Administrator to support AAO applications. The role administers SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL and MySQL databases across the enterprise.

You will design, implement, monitor and optimize database solutions, ensure data integrity, and participate in on-call rotations to meet SLAs in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

US citizenship and the ability to obtain the required clearance are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 6+ years of database administration experience.
• US citizenship and the ability to obtain the required clearance.
• Experience with MS SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL and MySQL databases.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates solid knowledge in database design, development and integration principles
• Experience installing, configuring, upgrading, migrating, provisioning, securing, patching, backing up and recovery of enterprise database systems
• Understanding of ANSI Standard SQL constructs for Database Administration
• Experience in High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) database architectures
• Good understanding of networking concepts and principles in a client/server database environment
• Experience in Unix, PowerShell or other scripting language
• Must have good communication, presentation, documentation and organizational skills
• Effectively works in a team environment with other DBAs to troubleshoot and resolve complex database problems
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
• Ability to work comfortably in a fast-paced environment
• Schedule flexibility is required to support on-call DBA rotation and the ability to respond to trouble tickets within time required by SLAs
