Job summary

GovCIO is seeking a Mid-Level Oracle Database Administrator to support enterprise Oracle databases in a fully remote role within the United States. The position focuses on reliable performance, standards adherence, and expansion of technical capabilities.

Responsibilities include implementing and tuning Oracle databases, developing PL/SQL utilities, performing patching and upgrades, and supporting HA/DR with thorough documentation. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 5–8 years of experience in Oracle Database administration.
• Solid knowledge of SQL/PL-SQL and Oracle tooling.
• Experience with RMAN, Grid, and Enterprise Manager.
• Ability to triage issues efficiently and automate repetitive tasks.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work across teams.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain Oracle database instances and related components.
• Conduct routine maintenance, health checks, tuning, and proactive monitoring.
• Develop and maintain PL/SQL procedures, scripts, and utilities.
• Execute patching cycles, upgrades, schema changes, and deployments.
• Participate in backup/restore operations using RMAN.
• Support HA/DR systems and ensure readiness through testing and documentation.
• Analyze and troubleshoot database performance and stability issues.
• Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to ensure aligned implementation.
• Maintain detailed documentation and adhere to security and compliance standards.
