Job summary

Technology Partners is seeking an Engineer 2 to design, develop, test, and support production and non‑production databases across Oracle, PostgreSQL, and SQL Server. The role emphasizes tuning, security, and stability while supporting application releases.

You will monitor daily activities, perform backups with RMAN, and automate tasks with UNIX shell scripts. The position is remote with on‑call rotations and after‑hours maintenance responsibilities.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of Oracle database development and administration experience in a fast‑paced production environment.
• Strong knowledge of relational databases such as Postgres and SQL Server.
• Experience with SQL tuning and optimization of query plans.
• Proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, and Pg/SQL coding.
• Experience implementing backup/recovery strategies using RMAN.
• Ability to create, update, and maintain UNIX Shell scripts.
• Familiarity with Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM).
• Ability to participate in on‑call rotations and support releases outside normal hours.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain production and non‑production databases per application specs.
• Monitor daily database activities and perform performance tuning and growth management.
• Implement backups and recoveries using RMAN and ensure security configurations.
• Optimize SQL/PL‑SQL queries to improve overall performance.
• Document configurations, procedures, and operational workflows.
• Participate in on‑call support and after‑hours maintenance as needed.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and propose tech improvements.
